A BIT ABOUT ME

My name is Kaylie Jones (she/her/hers), and I’m a fourth-year BFA Theatre Design, Technology, and Management student at Texas Tech University. I’ve been a proud member of the Stage Managers' Association since 2022 and currently serve as the Chair of the Texas Tech University chapter of the United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT).

As a stage manager, my primary goal is to serve as a strong voice for the production team, cast, and crew, while fostering a collaborative, comfortable, and inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome and empowered to create.

This past summer, I worked as the orchestra stage manager for the Aspen Chamber Symphony at the Aspen Music Festival and School. My responsibilities included overseeing rehearsals and performances, collaborating with stage crews, and ensuring smooth execution of eight weeks of programs in the Michael Klein Music Tent and Harris Concert Hall. I worked closely with the orchestra manager and librarian to update and maintain paperwork for rehearsals, changeovers, and performances, all while building strong relationships with crew members, artists, maestros, and orchestra musicians.

In addition to my work in theatre, I also serve as a student assistant for Texas Tech University Student Housing and as a student ambassador for the Texas Tech School of Visual and Performing Arts.

Outside of my professional life, I am an avid podcast listener, coffee enthusiast, reader, sudoku player, and Marvel fan. I’m also a proud plant mom to over 35 houseplants–not including my LEGO plants! When I’m not in rehearsal or calling cues, I love spending quality time with my friends, family, my wonderful partner, Will, and our two cats, Rosco and Marley.
